I've read in a lot of places that the ideals of Greek philosophers such as Socrates, Plato and Aristotle were reintroduced to Europe through the Arabic and Hebrew translations. So the years where the Greek teachings were absent in Europe were the Middle Ages?
Also, where does roman rule fit into all of this? Is there an infographic out there that could explain the time line of the different ages? Where does the Renaissance fit in? I'm guessing it comes after the Middle Ages?
