Thinking of trying out some gardening, Beginner

I have zero gardening experience, and excuse my ignorance on gardening. I want to try to start a garden, raised garden beds, I don't want to do the traditional way of planting straight into the earth because of my dogs(feces/urine). We do have several things growing right now, well my mom does. 2 papaya trees and 2 mango trees, one papaya tree has bared fruit(we're in zone 9b, Florida).

The two mango plants are probably 3 feet tall. I want to start gardening because honestly, it looks really nice to make something grow from a seed, it's like you're a carpenter and you watch a house get built from scratch over time, really neat. I plan on starting off this March area, with just one raised garden to see if I want to continue with this. As for planting, I'm thinking Sweet Potatoes, Okra, Peanuts(things that i can grow fairly well in zone 9b Florida).

Possibly other compatible herb or vegetables along side them, for a total max of four crops. Unless I should start small with a smaller operation, but 4 things to grow sounds nice to me. I welcome any tips and advice to starting gardening. Thank you
