help me take the best care of my new leather chukkas

hey so i got a new pair of leather chukkas recently and i love them to death and i want them to last forever! so i did a bit of reading and tomorrow i will go buy some lexol leather conditioner, and i was wondering is it ok if i just take once a month (or maybe twice a month in winter cus snow/salt) to wipe them clean with a towel, then use the lexol conditioner? do i have to polish too? i like how they do shine in certain lights but they have a lot of white stitching and i dont want the brown polish to make the stitching brown too, so is it ok if i just clean+ condition them periodically?

also im planning to buy some cedar shoe trees next month when i save some more money. and im also gonna get some Kiwi boot waterproof spray to spray the boots after i condition with lexol.
