ESXi 6.0 igb poor sustained throughput

I'm having a minor issue with my pfSense VM that appears to be more of a esxi issue than a pfsense issue. I have 150Mbps, but if I perform a speed test, it will cycle between 40-150 in a periodic, sinusoidal manner. When I pass through the NIC, I get full speed for the duration of the transfer.

My searching has found this reported as a bug in pfSense, but was removed due to not all ESXi instances being affected. There is a KB article that seems to cover what I am experiencing, but the suggestion does not seem to fix it for me.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Anything I may provide to help someone help me figure this out?
