Anyone have any experience with .GHO's?

I work in computer forensics and recently received a hard drive with a bunch of custodian's images. They were all imaged using Norton (Symantec) Ghost. Basically what I need to do is get these images over to another hard drive in another format as Ghost doesn't have the functionality that we need. We use EnCase for processing so ideally I'd want to blow out this image and re-image it i think?

Everything I find on Symantec Ghost is pretty archaic and not helpful. Ghost Explorer kind of works, but there is always an error on export.

There is a virtual boot disk I believe that can be used but it is expensive.

I don't know, all this Ghost stuff is making me feel pretty stupid because the knowledge base on it is so scarce and I'm stuck in the mud. Any help at all would be great. Thanks!
