How to use Gotomypc in Linux?

At work I have a Windows 7 PC with Gotomypc installed. At home I use Ubuntu Mate 15.10. When I try to connect to my work PC using gotomypc.com I just get a blank page in Firefox and a plugin not found message in Chrome. I tried installing Java 8 and the icedtea web plugin but it didn't help. I believe Chrome and Firefox stopped supporting NPAPI plugins at some point, but I have no issue using Gotomypc using Windows. How can I get it working in Ubuntu? Sometimes I use Virtualbox with Windows installed in it to do this but I really want to do this natively in Linux. Thank you.
