Discussion on items like Eye of the Equinox

From checking a lot of high elo match histories, it seems like pros are favoring Eye of the Equinox and Face of the Mountain in an equal amount of games. It seems as though players are valuing the Face of the Mountain active less compared to the actives of the other support items. Can someone help explain why this is to me?
