"Tell them that a giant slug captured me and forced me to wear that stupid outfit, and then I killed him because I didn’t like it. And then I took it off. Backstage."
Based Leia!
GASP! Tell the kid the ...... TRRRUUUUUUUUTTTTHHHH!!!!
Funny as hell.
It's almost like a child's mind isn't as weak and fragile as people think it is
Hahahaha. Perfect response, 18-karat piece right there.
This is perfect.
This is the perfect example of how somebody can be personally against something, but still be okay with it existing.
From the WSJ Article:
Finally, no. I don’t like looking at myself. I have such bad body dysmorphia.
Like a rational person she can separate her own issues with the costume and her personal body image from some sort of twisted all in mentality.
And that's saying something when the person in question has admitted to having her own mental health issues. No excuses for SJWs.
When Carrie Fisher has a mental health issue, that's her problem and she knows it (now, anyway). When an SJW has a mental health issue (all the time), that's YOUR problem and they will let you know it... and that's why they will never improve.
I never saw the problem. Slave Leia was super hot and she was a badass.
By finding her hawt in the outfit, you are quite literally saying that sexual slavery is acceptable and also contributing to the exploitation of women.
That's the logic they use.
Well tbf objectifying someone being held against their will is pretty disgusting.
Except it's not objectifying to think someone is hot.
That's pretty much what objectifying means. Objectifying should mean when you treat women as objects, but that's been broadened so far as to just mean being attracted to women because that somehow implies that you think she's just an object for your lust instead of, you know, being attracted to another human being.
Yep, which is why crime-lord Jabba - who we aren't supposed to like. Enslaved and objectified her.
This is one of the very few sentences I read online in which "objectifying" actually means anything.
Looking sexy != "objectifying" you fuckin prudes. Objectifing means stripping someone of his/her human dignity. Meaning living life how he/she wants without someone who sees him/her as a resource.
the question we should then ask is what "idea" are these slave leia models selling. Is it selling the idea of a Leia breaking free of sexual slavery, as a strong character, or is it objectifying her to as a part of it.
I'm not saying it's one way or the other, but i'm sure one could argue that some people buy it because they remember leia was a bad ass in that scene, while just as easily one would find those who buy it because they think jabba had a great taste in sexy slave wear. :P
I'll try to break it to you gently.
IT'S NOT REAL! IT'S A MOVIE!
It's a historical document. It happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
When was Carrie Fisher held against her will?! Wtf, that's awful! Was it like a kidnapping, or some sort of coerced thing?!
ffs, dude, do you really think that it's not Carrie Fisher being hot that people find hot, but the fictional aspect of a giant slug enslaving her and making her an ornament?
Personally, I've never been particularly attracted to Leia (slave or otherwise - I was pretty much over Star Wars by the time I reached puberty) - but even if some people do objectify her in that way, and considering that the film exists unchanged (at present!), does that justify denying everyone else the opportunity to own merch featuring an iconic cinematic image?
Well, to be fair again, it's also a huge assumption that this is the reason they're doing it. Could very easily just be Disney trying to be as family friendly as possible.
never been particularly attracted to Leia (slave or otherwise
Boussh Leia. When she took the helmet off. Right there. That's what did it for me. Even if her plan was inept. When the Black Series Boussh came out, I sold my Slave Leia (poor plan in retrospect) and bought that one.
Nice try jonathan. Go make your wife another mojito you fuckin cuck.
=)
But that is appropriating gay culture.
That's assuming that the reason people find her hawt in that outfit is because she's enslaved, not because the outfit is revealing & her body is attractive, not because she remains defiant, and not because in the end, she had the wit to take advantage of an opening provided by an ally, kill her captor, & escape... all of which are the exact opposite of "objectifying" slavery.
Yeah you're attracted to her because she's a defiant and strong woman. Somehow I doubt your ability to find any reason to fap to her other than that she was in a bikini.
Objectifying them would be bad. Sexualizing someone however, not bad.
Disgusting or not, she was hot.
What the fuck are you talking about? This sounds like chain of buzzwords without meaning to me.
Then it sounds like you have a problem with reading comprehension. Maybe ask your middle school teacher to help you through it on Monday.
In SJWs eyes, that means she was just hot and objectified.
That is totally not objectifying her. /s
super hot
Adeptly switches sides of the fence when money is involved
Or maybe she just has more nuanced opinions and it depends on the context? She did say she didn't like it: 'Tell them that a giant slug captured me and forced me to wear that stupid outfit, and then I killed him because I didn’t like it. And then I took it off. Backstage.'
She said that statement as what you would tell a child about it. What an actress likes is different from what the character likes, and honestly, children can't be expected to grasp that difference, and clearly Leia didn't like wearing the thing.
Or maybe people have nuanced opinions that dont boil down to an "us vs them" narrative thats easy to understand in media snippets.
Its hard to tell, since we can't really trust the first opinion to be properly represented either.
That video is so funny and adorable. I love it.
Yeah. Sounds like a sweet kid.
Fuck, i got the goofiest grin right now at work. Thanks for this. Cuteness too stronk.Brilliant.
The answer to if she knew what the word demeaning is had me just let out the girliest "Awww" ever.
I'm a big bearded dude sitting in front of my computer with this stupid grin on my face dumbfounded by how cute this was.
Found the future father. Good luck B! It's an adventure!
Fortunately no. At least I don't think I'm a father.
We'll see. =) Take your time. No rush for guys at least, we're good at making babies (and we should! North America doesn't make enough of them dammit! Europe of course is worse so if you can help there, that's even better!)
Search your heart, you know it to be true!
lol, new father here this is the most adorable thing in the universe and if my daughter ever has this conversation with me, I will put that shit in the W column.
Her reaction is pure. Her reaction was unfiltered by constructs taught in school, or society. The world we live in is corrupt, corrupts our minds and essence of our beings.
Notice how the father has to run a mental checklist of things to say after the "but Some people think that it's a bit" line, he no longer thinks about what comes from his heart but what society expects him to think.
At least she's got that on audio and will be able to look back at herself 20 years from now.
below the line needs a little bit of /sarcasm

Carrie Fisher is actually a great comedian that, talking about mental and drugs problems, would be censored by current SJWs.
Harrison Ford's hair looks terrible in that second one.
She was the only good thing about Sorority Row (2009)
Don't have any links (it was in comments on some of the articles about the ban) but I remember SocJus people speculating that Fisher was behind it in the first place - that she'd stood up against being 'objectified' further...
Which is silly because Fisher is the one who wanted to wear the thing in the first place after two movies of very conservative outfits.
She chose...wisely.
I don't understand why they get their panties in a bunch about a bikini costume. Don't they realize that Chewbacca is... NAKED ALL THE TIME!!1 Seriously!
Every single day is a slut walk when you're Chewbacca.
“What am I going to tell my kid about why she’s in that outfit?”
"He's making her wear it and forcing her to be his own personal beyonce."
And you know what's unabashedly stupid?
The fact that Beyonce can get away with skimpy outfits because she once had a stage display that spelled out the word "Feminist" behind her.
Does anyone remember anyone of note (or any public outcry) for misuse of the word because she wore outfits that objectify her? No? Well, then...
Why is this even an argument?
because everything has to be an argument now, people can't just shut the fuck up and enjoy life.
It is stupid. Think about it Leia almost butt naked killed one of the galxay's most badass gangsters while Luke was fucking about with a seemingly over complicated plan.
Leia has got to be Vader's fave kid from that point on :D
Also she had better hair. : D
This whole thing is stupid. When I was a little kid, I never looked down at Leia because of the outfit because even as a child, I had the mental capacity to understand that Jabba was forcing her to wear it to embarrass her. And, like the badass she always was, she fucking strangled him the first chance she got. She was never defined by her outfits, she was defined by her actions. That's what makes her such a great character. She proved herself to be competent, tough, caring, smart, and good in a fight, but the SJWs think that doesn't matter because a cruel crime lord with a den full of killers forced her to wear a bikini.
Fisher, in one of her stage shows, used to joke about how, in Episode IV, she'd ask George Lucas about why she couldn't wear a bra under her white outfit (answer: "There's no underwear in space").
And yet, nobody's making a shit-fit about her outfit there, either. Meanwhile, Leia was beating the fuck out of any interrogation methods they threw at her, up until the Empire decided to blow up a planet.
The reason SJWs are so pissed is because they are worried the Beach Body ready model will re-enact this seen using one of their own
Perhaps they're upset because Carrie Fisher looks twice as good as they do, even today.
Carrie Fisher is really smart and used to be a well paid script doctor. She's also an accomplished novelist. We're finding that really intelligent women from all professions are seeing past the SJW nonsense and it's the less educated opportunists who support it.
It’s a male-dominated planet. White male—he delivers.
I just had to laugh.
(Shakes her head “no.”) I bring [the characters] to me. I don’t go to them. I don’t get into character.
Pretty badass, honestly.
Her body isn't her own.
The fact that these people call themselves feminists is disgusting. What it must feel like to watch this unfold as a second wave feminist.
I pity those women who were actually mistreated and fought for their rights having to watch this generation work to undermine everything they fought for.
I pity those women who were actually mistreated and fought for their rights having to watch this generation work to undermine everything they fought for.
I was just thinking today that they could have at least waited until all the WW2 veterans died off before they started shitting on everything they risked their lives for.
Based Leia!
I'm waiting for Chewbacca to weigh in on this deeply important issue before I make any snap judgments.
I heard somewhere that Fisher herself requested a scene where she could show off her body, since she had really worked hard to get in shape for the movie. Sadly I cannot find the source for this. I believe it was a CineFix episode...
Feminists doesn't like slave Leia because she strangled one of them.
Savage
Oh, you!
Hohohoho!
kek
Sally Struthers is a feminist?
