Blade vortex

From what I've been reading everyone wants to coc this skill... Why not RF with hatred to proc EE. It has a 0.5 cast time. Along with blasphemy (maybe) fire curse. The %more from RF and %more from that new support gem should make for some pretty insane damage.

Edit: Apparently no one is getting the idea here. One this is not a cyclone build nor should it be compared to cyclone since this is using a spell and not going melee. Hatred is a huge damage buff to physical builds is it not, so I figured why not go EE as well since already over in that part of the tree for the regen. I know it'll miss out on added fire support but this is what I had in mind

BV + Echo + Controlled Destruction + Conc + Fast Cast/Inc AoE/LGoH/Iron Will/Inc Dur

RF(19) = 58%

Conc(19) = 58%

CD(1) = 25%

212% MORE spell damage... this is what theory-crafting is about. Thinking about the possibilities not throwing them away saying eh you're stupid use cyclone.

Cause you can just use cyclone to proc EE.

I'm planning an RF blade vortex build. I'll used added fire in the supports so no EE.

yeah I just figured since the build would have been pretty close to it why not. But I'm not sure yet if I would want it to proc EE either.

If you want to go the blade vortex route, better use herald of ice then. Smaller reservation. Be aware that you can not use the added fire damage support, which would have been a pretty huge damage boost.

yeah I know. That's the one down side which is why it may not include EE.

Cyclone is just straight up better for procing EE on RF builds.

  • Moving while clearing
  • No need for auras to proc EE. (most of your mana will be reserved with PoF and Vitality. You might have room for 1 more if you have a level 2 Enlighten + the reserved mana jewel + reserved mana on tree. I'm running Determination on mine)
  • Damage dealt to proc EE is irrelevant. As long as you deal 1 cold or lightning damage per hit you will proc EE.

This is not how MORE damage works. Here is the corrected calculation:

100 * 1.58 * 1.58 * 1.25 = 3.1205

So it is 212.05% MORE spell damage

yeah that's right. For some reason I treated them as increased values.

Why would you waste 50% of your mana to proc EE when you can just get like 1-2 cold damage on a ring for an attack or something?

Everyone here told you why cyclone is better for proccing EE.

I'll add that RF totally sucks in the current meta because with RF on you can't do a very large amount of pack-size map mods. It's a very serious drawback.
