Well, we went back 40 for 2 reasons. First, as you mentioned, it's quieter. My groups all hovering around 30 years old this year. Don't get me wrong, we love to stay up all night partying and we won't miss a GL set, but when it's time to wrap it up, the quiet is nice. We had an RV last year that was much more soundproof than we anticipated and it was so nice.
But more importantly for us, it was the guaranteed group GL tickets. Because of how we bought last year, we had 2 GA codes and 4 tickets to buy and we all wanted goodlife. Rather than risk there being any GL tickets available tomorrow, we just snagged a 4 person package with one loyalty code so we are all good. I imagine that will be a big appeal for groups wanting to make the move from GA to GL. Even for 2 people I think the back 40 package is only $100 more than two GL tickets and you can get them both together with a single code.
its a hundred more for back for 40 camping only, I can get the cabins or homes. but with the camping your paying 100 more for a day less and getting some more camping. doesn't seem like a good trade off to me. but its not like there is a ticket option that sucks at eff. they are all gold. and enough options to cover almost any style of desired attendance
Well, you also get brunch every day, access to bathrooms and showers that are a permanent part of the campgrounds (not temporary stuff set up for the fest), a reserved campsite and maybe a few other creature comforts.
The 4 person package was $2900, so $725 a person. We got wednesday arrival too and it came to $807 a person when it was all said and done. An additional ~$50 a person over retail GL is a small price to pay to guarantee the whole crew gets good life without the stress of waiting for the general onsale.
Also, the real reason I think it will go next is because there are only so many spots. Didnt do back 40 last year (maybe someone who did can chime in), but I am assuming that they aren't redesigning the back 40 campgrounds for the fest. Outside of EF, there are only 58 campsites at the facility for camping and RVs combined. So thats why I think it will be next to go.
Also, do you get RV hookups in GL RV, or only Back40 RV? If only Back40, that makes it more appealing to for the RV crowd.
I'm guessing back 40 camping/RV will go next
I don't get why people go back 40 camping. unless they just want something quieter. village is where its at and you get early arrival
