This seems like an indication of why they're closing.
yeah something like that. A passion for food, not a passion for making money
I love store closing sales. I outfitted a 'free bookstore' at an elementary school twice with these sales. The second time, I replaced almost all of the shelving with DVD racks from Blockbuster. Unfortunately, this was right before Borders closed, and I'd used a perfectly timed grant. Oh, I would have loved getting their shelving.
Now, when I'm shopping in a failing store, I make mental notes about the store displays and think... soon, very soon.
that sound great! This was a rented restaurant so only the "loose" items where for sale. So no shelves or so, but still great!
Score! Well worth your time spent.
Saw your picture and turned my head to the left to look at my own. Same model and everything! It's a great machine; great find.
Thanks! I like that it's not the red one, for some reason the red one is 25% cheaper and almost always the one found used. so pretty!
Great deal. My mom has the exact mixer and its been around longer than me.
and its been around longer than me.
which is exactly why i think this is a nice one to have!
Lucky! I've had a $400 orange kitchenaid mixer in my best buy cart for 3 months now. Haven't been able to make myself buy it yet. Hopefully I can find an older model somewhere. :)
I don't actually know how old this is, maybe it is from 2009 or so. So the "new" version but as long as the parts are replacable i'm happy.
I've been eyeing one myself, but damn they're expensive!!
The first one i've ever seen used (non-online)!
I am not sure why, but these fellas cost almost $600 from new where I live in scandinavia (guess its the conversion of power and the right plug)
I've never seen them used below roughly $150, and only so cheap with broken motor.
A guy was closing his restaurant and sold off everything! He asked $15 for it because it was destroying the bowl: https://imgur.com/s5NGYmx took a few minutes to find and watch a youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNwhrqJVkYc
It also had a wobly head, which was easy to fix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qioHm1PQns
It still can't power off, which should be possible to fix. But I'll unplug it anyway. So a fix for another day
Remove the back. There should be two screw tensioners that control a spring, which controls the motor speed, https://i.ytimg.com/vi/pUo_ZU5xh3o/hqdefault.jpg. Might be adjusted too loose so never gets to the off position. Correct that and you should be golden.
I tightened them, which made it worse I think. I have to fiddle a bit to get it right. But hey thanks!
Thank you for posting the video on how to fix a wobbly mixer head. I checked my KitchenAid today and discovered that the screw that tightens the bar holding on the head is completely missing! The guys at my local hardware store should be able to help me replace it.
You're welcome!
if they can't you might be able to find parts online!
