Is it not time to have a option to turn animations off? (Discussion)

I know this probably has been posted before. But I have noticed, not just with me as a Miracle Rogue player, but also on streams of top players as well as in tournaments(!) that players have a hard time finishing their turns properly due to animations.

Simply said, if you have to attack and do everything on feeling while the animation is 10 seconds behind, you attack "blind" without having the overview (even if you calculated correctly) or you might not know the outcome of for example a doombot exploding at the end.

An idea to fix is, is to turn off animations, so that everything happens more or less instantly: with gadgetzan auctioneer you just directly get a card, with grim patron you just instantly get a new grim patron, etc. Basically remove the small "I am doing something" animation, the yellow lightning bolt.

If you have played the game for a long time you know what lighting portal does, just give us the card already.

Any other idea's are welcome. I feel this could hurt the game on a competitive level.

TL;DR Have the option to remove card animation, the lighting bolt proc. Other ideas welcome, as well as disagreements.

As much as this is needed It is really hard to see such a thing from blizzard. I really have a hard time thinking if this will be implemented in the game. it is a really needed thing in every card game.

That would be useful but I just can't see Blizzard doing that. They may do something to make it less of a problem, but they won't do anything drastic like that (or anything that requires a decent amount of work).

It's not that big of a problem, it doesn't affect so many players, it won't earn them money short term and having tournaments broadcasted without animations is not any better than competitors running out of time because of animations.

Hearthstone without animations would be boring as hell

But much better for tournaments, Anti nozdormu exploits and much better in a controlled environment.

having the option to toggle it on or off is great so veterans who dont need animations will toggle it off, and people who want can still play with them.

I don't think presenting HS in an uglier (no animations) way in tournaments is acceptable for Blizzard. Between a bad and less bad option they will choose the one that requires less work.

Maybe a system where animations stop if the rope is initiated would be suitable?
