A Lover's Passing

I'm strewn and scattered upon the earth

Like sand below the surf

I am everywhere, my love

I look down to you from above

I am shapeless when I breathe

I hold my form when you believe

That I am with you every day

I'm the one who always stays

Look right at me, I am clear

Look away and I disappear

Face the fact that we are one

Only by your side do I belong.

Though fallen leaves I am heard

Through resting thistles, undisturbed

Of colors plenty am I made

The most vibrant of arrays

I am the warmth that surrounds

I am the happiness you've found

I was here and now I'm gone

Don't you cry, I'm still around

I'm your sublime

Your aged wine

Drink me as you please

Let my memory appease

Drown out the sound

Blur out the land
