Let's Build A Packing List!
It took me a few years to finally get it right, but this will be my fourth year in the forest, and I want to use my insight to help those who may not have been to the forest before, or any festival at all.
Remember when packing that NOTHING can be in GLASS containers, be it food, bathroom products, drinks etc. They'll make you throw it out when they search your car.
Here are a few camp necessities:
- Tent (Always set it up before hand, make sure it has all its pieces, patch any holes, vacuum it out, etc.)
- Air Mattress + Pillows + Blankets (Or a Sleeping Bag)
- A CHARGER!! For anything USB compatible, this is the one I have ( http://www.amazon.com/20000mAh-Compact-External-Portable-Motorola/dp/B01191S0VY/ref=cm_rdp_product )
- A Tarp
- Canopy (For Shade!!!)
- Lawn chairs
- Small Table(s)
- Cooler with Ice (I freeze water bottles to save money on ice, and then you have water to drink too!)
- Paper Plates
- Plastic Cutlery
- Tapestries + clothespins (Set up around the canopy for more shade and privacy)
- Flashlights
- Garbage and recycling bags
- Tooth Brushes + Tooth Paste
- Towels + Washcloths
- Wet Wipes (SO many uses for these)
- Paper Towels and Napkins
- Lotion
- Sunscreen (A nice high spf) + Aloe Vera
- Jeans and Jackets (It Gets COLD!)
Ideas For Fun:
- Totems/Camp Flags
- Art Supplies (Paper/sketchpads, crayons, pencils, markers, watercolor paints, oil pastels, beads and string to make bracelets, etc.)
- Cards VS. Humanity
- Hammock + Straps (For taking a nap in the forest!)
- Face Paint and/or body paint/liquid latex
Food Ideas (I always struggle here)
- Lots of fresh fruit (Bananas, mangos, strawberries, blueberries, check out a michigan farmers market on your way up (: )
- Quality Smoothies/Juices (Nothing loaded with sugar/gmos)
- Jerky
- Crackers
- Peanut Butter
- Bread
If anybody has any contributions I would love some input, especially with the food part, I never know what to get and the vendors are always so expensive x.x
