Please come to your front door with your hands in plain sight.

But please put pants on first. No one wants to see your erection.

There is nothing surprising about a child over 10 years old using a firearm, if they've been raised right.

Interested kids should be getting their first BB gun at ages 5 to 10 and their first .22 at 10 to 15. Dependent upon how good you are at doing your job, parents.

And of course SOME new Dads like myself get overly excited and buy their kid their first BB gun when mom is still in the hospital after delivery...

(WHAT!? she sent me out to get her a snack... it's not my fault that the closest store was Walmart and the Snack Aisle was kinda sorta near where they sell the pink red ryders...)

But Still... my plan is 5 or 6 for the BB gun and then if that goes exceptionally well maybe 8 or 9 for the first incredibly well supervised range trip with a .22.

Which reminds me... I need to buy one of those Cricket single shots... they look like fun... (err... I mean for the kid... not for me... certainly not for me...)

The cricket is a decent little .22. Funny thing though, when my daughter went from her pink red rider to her pink .22 the .22 was considerably smaller. Would have been better if the bb gun was that size and the .22 was the size of the bb gun. It's ok. She's 13 now and just shoots one of my AR's. I'll end up building her a purple one soon.

i dont think you should let a 3 year old have access to gun but when obama talks about kids and guns like they should never see or talk about them until 18 is equally as dangerous as giving a gun to a 3 year old. if you know your kid is going to be growing up in a house with guns when they are an appropiate age that a parent deems they should teach them gun safety and proper handling and allow them to see and hold the gun if they want to with your supervision. kids are curios and by doing that you remove a lot of the mystery element to a firearm and reduce their want to break into your cabinet to see the guns.
