A REAL mentor never begs those he's mentoring to "Protect me" - but that's exactly what Ikeda does
A GENUINE mentor is someone who has reached a high level of career development who wants to extend the benefits of his knowledge and experience to those less experienced, to help them in their own career development. It's altruistic, stemming from a desire to help others via employing one's own experience.
REAL mentoring is not about the mentor.
Any mentor worthy of the title is NOT involved in shady shenanigans where he needs to assemble his own private army to protect him!
But that's what we see Ikeda doing:
IT is the spirit of Youth Division members to protect their mentor and stand up to take full responsibility for kosen-rufu. Ikeda
...facing times of change, how much greater the mission of America. With ever deeper faith in the oneness of mentor and disciple we will protect sensei. SGI-USA National Men's Division Leader Tariq Hasan
To support and protect the mentor means to practice in this way...
As more and more people join the SGI and when President Ikeda passes away, it will be imperative that we protect the SGI and therefore the great legacy of the mentors.
Sounds like an insurance policy that only benefits Ikeda, frankly.
The mentor’s life will be lived out by the proof shown by these disciples. SGI
Whaa? That's not what mentoring is about. Mentoring is about supporting others in developing their own unique potential! NOT in getting a bunch of servants to do what YOU want.
Repeat: REAL mentoring IS NOT ABOUT THE MENTOR.
For precisely this reason, I would like to see members establish a firm solidarity as true comrades and protect the SGI.
Well, golly. If the SGI is not doing bad stuff, it shouldn't need to be "protected."
How precious is the SGI! How much must we give our lives to protecting this wonderful organization!
"We" spelled "Y-O-U", in other words O_O
To protect the SGI and SGI members is to protect humankind. Ikeda
Okay, now that's just gross. What hubris! What a colossal sense of self-importance!
Good disciples protect and promote the mentor’s vision, with which they identify. Source
NO. REAL mentoring is not about the mentor.
Since we are all advancing toward one and the same objective, it is only natural that we should protect the central figure.
...meaning Ikeda, naturally. Of course he's the most deserving of everything "protection". And he's the only one involved, really. Everyone else is just like a sort of extension of Sensei, doing whatever Sensei thinks needs to be done because of course Sensei is so superior and superlative and above all humankind that the lowly minions must simply scurry about, carrying out Sensei's wishes.
Is this what any of you SGI members signed up for?
The new mottos, created for the New Era of Worldwide Kosen-Rufu, are:
- Eternally protect my mentor and the SGI by resolutely fighting fundamental darkness. SGI source
Whatever THAT means * snort *
Isn't it conweenient to have all these external boogeymen for the members to always be guarding against? "Fundamental darkness". "Sansho shima". And my personal favorite, "the King Devil of the Sixth Heaven"! Oooooo...scary, kids O_O
A REAL mentor gives to those he is helping without asking nor demanding anything in return. A REAL mentor has enough power and influence that he protects those he's helping; a REAL mentor never begs the ones he's supposed to be helping to "Protect me."
Ikeda is a pathetic parasite who needs to be needed, and who will adopt any pretense to bend others to his will.
