Wow, Players Took The Initiative and Ran for the Border with it.
So incredibly proud of the group of players that I'm DMing. They were in a situation where I was building up lots of tense eventualities for the future. My players, in their infinite wisdom (it really makes me smile that the paladin was the leader in this thinking.) decided to kill the king of the country they were helping. Granted he was planning some dangerous stuff, but the real evil work came when they blamed the murder on his trusted court, one of which is now dead and the other fled, quite clearly going to be a revenge driven villain in the future. Oh and before all of this they convinced the king to declare war on a neighbouring forest of elves, cutting down some of their trees. Uh oh.
I just want to note that I had none of these eventualities planned. I wanted to lead them on a quest that they were going to do for the elves, so proud of them for making the game their own. Now it's just up to me to come up with some eventualities to occur, I already have a few ideas that I think are going to really work well.
TLDR; group completely hijacked the campaign and killed everyone important. Loving where it's going.
