Constant hiccups

First to fall, I'd like to say that I had someone else type this out for me since I'm not that used to technology.

I'm an over 60 diabetic and once in a while I get constant hiccups. It can range from hours to a day. I've tried to talk to my doctor about this but I've only been met with what I can describe as vague indifference. Perhaps I didn't verbalize that correctly, or I guess since it goes away eventually it's not considered a concern. Or maybe medication just can't do much about it. But what's a concern to me is that while it does go away eventually it habitually comes back and stays for a while when it does.

it's getting to the point where I've tempted to call an ambulance once.

I'm frustrated and I don't know who to reach to. Any advice would be helpful.
