Controller doesn't work in CO-OP seasons

Hello.

I play Fifa 16 on PC using a playstation 3 controller. I have no issues whatsoever normally, but whenever I try to do coop seasons with a friend it stops working. I've been googling but haven't found a solution yet, so perhaps some of you guys know what causes this.
