IDViking Quebec + University ID Review
Recieved these a week ago, didn't really get around to reviewing them, but I guess there is no better time than now.
vendor: u/idviking
customer service - 10/10: Extremely professional, prompt and straight to the point. IDViking answered all my questions professionally and considering this was my first ID purchase, he made me feel more at ease while ordering for the first time.
shipping times - 8/10: Order was originally placed December 18th, but sadly they were already on Christmas holidays at this time, meaning my order wouldn't be fulfilled until after. Got my confirmation of order and payment on the 27th of December, and ID was in my hands by January the 13th. Accounting only for the 27-13th, meaning that turnaround times were roughly 18 days. Not too bad, but not what he originally advertises.
stealth - 10/10: Did the job, as I have no parents lurking into my personal mail. if you do, try a P.O. box.
photoshop - 9/10: Everything was in order and looked passable. IDViking actually did a good job making both photos look different, because of the same photo being used on the Student ID as well as the Quebec ID.
physical(s) - 9/10: The physical Quebec ID is quite good, but considering I've never seen a Quebec physical in my life don't take me on that claim to seriously. It feels correct and legitimate while in hand and nothing stands out too much.
The University of Alberta student ID is a different story however. This was a custom request made by me and I sent in some scans of a real student ID card, which IDViking took and used to make a template and the physical card. The card itself is lower-res than I would have wished for, but I can't be expecting too much considering the price I paid and the quality of the scans I sent in. The only real problem being that the backside of the ID was actually printed backwards, so when you flip it over as you would any other ID, you would have to flip it vertically again to be able to read it. Not a big deal, and I contacted u/idviking about it, and he even agreed to send me a reprint. Great CS as I mentioned earlier! Overall though, great physical ID's.
scanning - 10/10: They check out fine on mobile phone scanning apps.
price - 10/10: He did the custom Student ID job alongside the Quebec ID's plus a few duplicates for $100USD. not a bad price considering he also provided a duplicate of the student ID.
overall usability - 9/10: Being from Alberta, Canada, which is a far ways off from Quebec, I find that rarely anyone ever will honestly know what a Quebec ID looks like. However, it does spark some curiosity on behalf of the clerk/server. Some will ask me for some backstory, and why I speak little French and don't have a french sounding accent. It requires knowledge of the Quebec school system to use it in tandem with the University ID, alongside a decent backstory about how you're from a subsection of Montreal that is mainly anglophone and how your secondary school was a private English institution, etc. If you have everything in line and your confidence isn't too bad, you'll be able to scrape by.
Tested at a "bar and grill" restaurant and passed. Restaurant was low-light and the server was a cute girl who barely looked 17. Passed with flying colours. Will try at a liquor store and update back with details.
Thanks guys!
