Good-Bye

Snow slowly falls as stars wink at me from the sky
as I walk home and wonder why there's a "good" in good-bye.
This street is so crowded, but the faces all blend,
and our song in my head just refuses to end.
It's all I can think of, it's all that I know,
isn't there some way to get it to go?
Maybe tomorrow if I fake a real smile
I can get this song to stop for a while,
and I'll forget about you and the times that we had
days will go by and I'll stop being sad
but the wound on my heart will scar as tears dry
and I still won't understand the "good" in good-bye.
