Apple Watch and phone distances not matching?

Does anybody else have the following issue: You go on a run with your Apple Watch and your iPhone (especially indoor activities). You start and end the run on your Watch. The audio alerts tell you distances that are grossly wrong. The app on the phone records an activity that roughly matches the audio alerts. The watch shows what the App shows, however if you go into the Activity app (the one with the rings) it records an activity that more closely resembles the distance you actually ran.

Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
