A glimmering drop
Troubled water seeking
Yearning to be still
Lost - and always losing
Its way along
The heady hills
Of disenchantment overwhelming
Silent fear and hushed regret
A myriad of paths to travel down
But which and when and why!
and yet -
A hidden light, a pale white glow
Its softness so enchanting
A secret warmth transcending sorrow
To guide and soothe
To help forget
To thaw the icy shackles of the past
And slow the inexorable race
Of wandering water through arid lands
And lead it to the warm embrace
Of stillness once unknown.
Oh
How resplendent was the dance!
This is my first poem. I hope you enjoy it as much as it was cathartic to write.
