[newcomer's guide] On gold generation

Intro

In the beginning, the best way to generate a lot of gold is to use Dragonian Beasts on either nature or earth habitats.

Reasoning

Earth and nature habitats are some of the first habitats you can buy. They're relatively cheap and have decent gold capacity when they're upgraded (try to get them to level 4 asap).

Dragonian Beasts are reasonably easy to breed. The monsters you need to breed them are also easy to get. Dragonian Beasts also have one of the highest gold/minute stats for an epic monster (224 gold per minute @ level 50+).

Between habitat availability, ease of breeding, and high gold per minute, they hit an excellent sweet spot.

How to breed.

Upgrading gold production

When you level them up, get them all to the next level together rather than powerleveling one to 50. You'll get a higher gold per minute given the amount of food you put in if you move all of them from level 4 to 5 or 10 to 11, etc, than if you get one of them as high as you can go. Don't level them past 50. Max gold pre minute is reached at 50 so no point going past that.

After you get them level up a bit, buy nature and earth boosts rather than leveling them up for a while. You can buy 4 nature boosts and 4 earth boosts which each multiply their gold production by 10% for a total of 80%. Once you have all eight boosts, go back to leveling them up. I got boosts for mine when I had all of mine at level 13.

Where to go from here

Legendaries tend to have much higher gold per minute stats than the Dragonian Beasts so eventually you'll want to focus on getting legendary monsters instead. Try to avoid mixing elemental types on the habitats when you can. Put boosts next to the legendary habitats that have the corresponding elemental type.

Eventually you'll want to sell off your Dragonian Beasts and their earth and nature habitats. For me (level 65 with 26 legendaries), it hasn't made sense to do that yet. I'm still working on leveling up all my legendaries, though, so maybe once I've got that finished it'll make sense. Play it by ear.
