Changing Copryright Canon 5D classic

Hey,

I got another used 5D as a backup and one of the previous owners has his copyright info in there. Since I have Windows7 I can't connect the 5D to my computer to change those settings via EOS Utility. Does anyone know if there is a way without setting up a virtual XP machine?

Help would be very appreciated, thank you!
Cheers

Edit: I also have a MAC, but I doubt that will get me anywhere with old software. :-/

Does it not reset the copyright info if you do a settings reset?

Oh wow, I can't believe I didn't think of that. Thank you, worked like a charm :-)

No problem

Wait, it requires a pc to enter/change that? Can't it be done in-camera?

As far as I know you have to change it via software on the 5D.

Huh, interesting. Any reason why the utility thing doesn't work on Win 7?

EOS Utility works, it's the camera that isn't supported on Win7.

Why wouldn't it be supported? Looks like setting up a virtual machine would be the only way then. Shouldn't take long tbh.

You can, however, put the camera in "Print/PTP" communication mode and it will show up as a device, and you can access the images on the memory card etc. But yeah, for the "EOS Utility" remote control where you can change the owner name, I think you're out of luck...

Just change it during post-processing. Should be fast enough if you are bulk-syncing your metadata edits across all your photos in Lightroom.

Yeah, I have been doing that. But I was looking to "get it right in camera" ;-)
