Regarding our loss of of subscribers
Heyy, this post is just transparency regarding traffic statistics and the subscriber loss for r/fivenightsatfreddys. If you are not familiar with the recent announcement of reddit deleting dead accounts for subscriber cleanup, then I suggest reading this post first.
So about a week ago we received a message from an admin telling the total number of subscribers we lost from the cleanup proccess.
Hi r/fivenightsatfreddys mods,
As you probably already know, on December 15 we [started running all old deleted accounts through a cleanup process that (among some other things) removed the deleted accounts from subscriber lists. This cleanup process finished running on January 6, and since then I've had a number of mods contact me to ask exactly how many subscribers this caused their subreddits to lose. So I decided to just send out a modmail to everyone that lost at least 100 subscribers to give them that information:
There were 344 (or 340 if you round it up to the nearest tenth) old deleted accounts that were still being counted as subscribers in r/fivenightsatfreddys that were removed by the cleanup. Going forward, deleted accounts will automatically be unsubscribed 90 days after the account is deleted.
#Update: We are still declining in subscribers (16,600), so data below is outdated.
#I'm going to round these numbers up to the nearest tenth for the sake of simplicity, so note that these aren't the exact numbers.
Our number of subscribers has peaked at nearly 17,600 on Nov. 5th, 2015. We currently have just barely 16,750. That means we lost about 850 subs. 850 is only about 5.8% of 17,600. If you don't include the dead accounts reddit removed then we really only lost 510 subs. We'd still have roughly 17,090 subscribers if the account cleanup hadn't taken place.
On the topic of subscriber count, I'd like to ask users to not inflate our subscriber count with newly created accounts, please. I've seen some users suggesting to increase our sub count by creating accounts for sole purpose of subscribing so we regain a higher number. No, those kinds subscribers from unused accounts are meaningless and do not help us grow. It might not have been a serious proposal, but I just want to be safe.
##Now onto some traffic statistics because I'm sure a lot of you might find this interesting.
First, there are two words used for internet traffic, I will copy/paste definitions for these terms so that those who do not know can understand these stats a bit better. One is called "Pageviews" and the other is "Uniques".
Pageviews are all hits to r/fivenightsatfreddys, including both listing pages and comment pages.
Uniques are the total number of unique visitors (determined by a combination of their IP address and User Agent string) that generate the above pageviews. This is independent of whether or not they are signed in.
Keep in mind that one unique doesn't necessarily equate to one person.
Anyways
About a week ago we had around 7.7K daily uniques, we are still get a ton of visitors everyday. However this week we have been getting 8.1K daily uniques along with 74K daily pageviews, we've actually been getting even more traffic lately.
Let's see how the the release of the FNaF games has affected our traffic.
##During the month of FNaF 2's release (Nov. 10th) we got:
- 257 subs after release day, 1,708 a week after, and 2,717 a month after. Sadly I only have the subscriber stats for FNaf 2's release.
##During FNaF 3's (Mar. 2nd) we got:
-
418 subs after release day, 1,938 a week after, and 2,076 a month after.
-
5.7 million page views
-
472K uniques
##During FNaF 4's (Jul. 23rd)we got:
-
21 subs after release day, 588 a week after, and 1,658 a month after.
-
5.9 million page views
-
327K uniques
FNaF World 1.0's release had virtually no effect on us, which is why I haven't bothered to include it in this post.
So there you have it, we're declining sure, but still very much alive and kicking. Either way, not everything is about subscribers and stuff, the community itself is what makes the subreddit cool. Corny af but true I guess.
^Fun ^Fact: ^We ^nearly ^became ^'subreddit ^of ^the ^day' ^twice!

I legitimately missed it until you said there was a typo.
Must be that kind of day.
That's actually a common optical illusion, often people end up typing two words without realizing it it.
The weirdest thing is how my brain fixed it for me without even telling me. I didn't notice til I read the comment and double-checked.

don't worry it happens to the the best of us.
now read what i just said again and you'll notice that you missed something, like most of us did with your title until you pointed it out.
