The Blood of God
Time courses through the veins of God like blood,
Running red and without regard
To man, for his inclinations are like mud,
All but a stain on a vest that's marred.
It rips brothers from each other--
Trees torn down by wind and rain.
Tearing from her arms, child from mother
shattering lives and bringing pain.
The clock ticks and steadily demands,
your fear and respect, that's all that's due,
for in this far corner of the universe's hands,
one billion live, one billion die, as the blood of god courses through.
