paranormal blackout

I think one of my favorite parts

of becoming an adult has been

walking onward in the face of fear.

Not overcoming it; there is no

showdown where I need to "face" it, but rather,

The light goes off unexpectedly, and everyone freezes.

I kind of do, but then--

I really love the part,

when everyone is afraid,

and I say,

"fuck it, you guys!" and break

from frozen stance and stand,

flipping the light switch on

on the night stand.
