I never knew RF liked to think of himself as a ladies man?? Who knew? This interview looks like it took place in the 80's. About the time he went to the U.S. to record his Exposure solo album. I could be wrong.
Interesting read - thanks.
The tragedy of having your world shattered with calm words.
This guy is like your typical smoke weed and listen to that one Beatles album, "Nah man, music is all about the experience, the vibes." He'll praise Hendrix until his cock'll bleed, he'll practice Hinduism or some other Eastern faith, he'll fall in love in a bar, he'll die a victim, regardless of how he dies.
He sits there talking to druggies/drunks/womanizers/illiterates/philistines about how they came to success through their degenerative ways and their poor performances in a genre of music that relies on poor character and the resonance with crowds of sexed up retards. He'll talk about how they reinvented the wheel with the same revised questions for every dime a dozen artist of sorts.
He happens upon a musician, a Robert Fripp, and he loses his mind.
The whole interview is here, for reference: http://www.elephant-talk.com/wiki/Interview_with_Robert_Fripp_in_Guitar_Player_(1974)
I wonder how much got edited out in the final draft.
Very interesting. Thanks!
