Varying core clock speed when GPU is under load. The clock speed is 1164mhz idle, but drops and varies between 600-800mhz the second it is under load.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/88Xc23 My pc Just as the title said. I have graphs for it too if you want. I use MSI Afterburner. My frames are lower than normal due to this, and the power limit is 110%. GPU usage is always 99%. So to make sense of all this, the second I get into games and the GPU is under load, MSI says its GPU usage is 99%, power percent is around 100-105 max, but the core clock speed drops to 800-1000mhz out of nowhere. The memory clock NEVER changes. Just the core clock. It varies a lot. No Temperature throttling, dust is not a problem, not bottlenecking at all. Help! Okay, after EXTENSIVE analysis and testing, the gpu WAS faulty. The core clock would drop when under load, however, it would boost clock and run perfectly in less demanding games. EVGA said to send it back, I did and a new one is being shipped right back to me as you read this.
