How would I ask a girl on a date?

I have never asked a girl on a date before, just turned 16 less than a month ago so I'm allowed to date and I want to know the least awkward way to ask a girl yet he sincere and inviting about it. The girl I want to ask is attractive to me and somewhat special :) any tips? I feel like asking "Hey! You wanna go on a date with me??" Would sound a little weird....
