[Brothers Help!] I can't watch Netflix, black screen w/ playback controls and audio, but no video. More info in comments.
I'm using an external monitor: Asus VS248h-p connected via DVI->mDP to my laptop: MSI GT60 2OD-026us
Using Windows 10 64bit on the latest build (10586).
I am trying to watch Netflix with Microsoft Edge for that max bit-rate. But it never shows any video :/
What's interesting is that if I start the video on my laptop screen it works just fine, but when I move it over to my second screen it goes black, but only for the portion of the window that's on secondary screen. Here's a shittly drawn example.
My first thought was that my monitor wasn't HDCP compatible, but it is... proof. Here's a pastebin w/ more info: http://pastebin.com/aqmF6wXq Someone please help, I'd be extremely grateful and can give you a small $5 thing on steam :)
EDIT: I was asked to put pastebin in self-text so here:
System: MSI GT60 2OD-026us OS: Windows 10 64bit. Browser: Microsoft Edge Symptom: No video playback, but still have player controls and audio
Notes: Netflix suggested reinstalling silverlight (did that). I can see video playback on my LAPTOP screen, but not my external monitor (ASUS VS248h-p) connected via a DVI->miniDisplayPort. I've ensured that my external monitor is HDPC and it has worked in the past w/ Netflix on Edge.
I've installed all updates for everything on my computer (windows updates, etc.)
Netflix ASSURES me that it's an issue with sound drivers (which I can guarantee are up to date, had issues previously w/ steelseries siberia v2 headest. ) Weird that they think sound drivers are causing issues w/ video playback -_-.
Update: Called MSI and got the most up-to-date drivers for chipset, Windows 10, realtek, etc. And the issue persists. The issue also happens in a similar fashion with the Netflix app on the Windows Store.
