Nexus 5X has widespread camera problems [Google Camera App]

The camera is incredibly unreliable for a lot of people (crashes, slow, sometimes just blank screen, sometimes doesn't save pictures it takes, etc..). It seems to be tricky to reproduce: sometimes it only happens after a day or two of uptime. Some people report several RMAs without a fix. Google has acknowledged they're looking into it, but without a guarantee of a fix, I would think twice before buying this phone, especially if you take photos daily. The OS patches thus far have not fixed the problem.

My anecdote: even after decrypting the data partition, the problem persists. A daily reboot keeps the phone usable, but some days it starts to crash within several hours.
