GF and I looking to get into some co-op games. Suggestions?

We're total beginners but I play a lot of video games (RPGs and everything under the sun and she's played Final Fantasy and a few simpler ones on her phone) so we're no strangers to those types of mechanics. Still, we're novices and we saw Mansions of Madness and we were intrigued (love Lovecraftian Horror) but it looked overwhelming. We got Forbidden Island instead and it's a bit simple but fun. Suggestions?

[EDIT] Great examples everybody thank you so much. So far I picked up Flash Point: Fire Rescue (the expansions look awesome, like the submarine), Mice and Mystics, and Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective. Looking to probably pick up Robinson Crusoe: Adventure On The Cursed Island, Mysterium, and Burgle Bros. after we finish with those!
