After installing Halo 2, it froze up and left a still image on my screen. This image flickers and will not go away. Can anyone help solve this?
Here is a video to reference my description. The camera isn't really picking up the flicker most likely due to the capture framerate, but you get the gist.
- desktop is fully functional.
- Using an R9 380
- Happened within 5 minutes of playing Halo for first time.
- Upon restart the image stays. It loads up with the Windows 10 splash screen as well~~ as the motherboard splash screen, which implies no software corruption is creating the problem.~~
What I'm going to try:
- uninstalling Halo.
- Reseating graphics card
EDIT: Image is not burned into monitor. Edited bullet points. Only when Windows 10 splash screen appears. Could still be software related.
EDIT 2: switched input source to second HDMI input and used my laptop to eliminate all hardware/software problem options thoroughly.
Conclusion: image is "burned in" to my LG ultrawide IPS monitor. The same flickering image appears using my laptop as the input.
Outcome: Keep monitor off for extended amount of time and retry later.
