Cyprus Residency Law

Hello, Cyprus.

I am a citizen of the United Kingdom who is looking to in the future move to the Netherlands. I am half Cypriot, but adopted at a young age by non-Cypriots, but have ties to Cyprus.

If the United Kingdom leaves the European Union this year, it is likely that I would not be eligible for a non-EU visa, but were I to have right of residency in another EU country, I would therefore have right of residency in all of them. Therefore, I would like to know if as a Commonwealth citizen, I would be able to gain right of residency in Cyprus, and live there short term, before making the move to the Netherlands. Would it be possible to do this?
