What makes us human?

This forum. Would an animal ever question itself enough to make a forum on doing something against its natural instinct? Would an animal go as far as bending its mind against its prewired instincts?

Next time you want to watch porn, ask yourself if you are an animal.

Because to me, an animal doesn't seem to have free will. If you reduce yourself down far enough to the point where you cannot control your own impulses, then do you have free will? Are you less human than one that can?
