Original WWE Title Match for WrestleMania XX ?

I've been wondering, in 2004 we got Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle for the WWE Title.

Had Brock Lesnar not left the WWE, would the match have been Brock vs Kurt for the title, with Kurt getting his win back from WMXIX?

Anyone have any info on this?
