Fear of Doubt?

Something happened a week ago that had a deep impact on me.

I was having a conversation with someone about their biggest fear. goes as follows:

__

Sister: "I guess my biggest fear is thinking about infinity."

KingAdeto: "Why?"

Sister: "When I think about infinity, I think about how insignificant we are. This causes me to doubt and question God. I know you're not supposed to do that."

Kingadeto: "If an authority cannot withstand criticism, then that authority is not a viable authority."

__

The text I bolded made me realize my previous mindset. A few years ago whenever I saw a click bait article titled "Proof God doesn't Exist," I wanted to click it so bad. No matter how much I wanted to click it, I never did. I didn't click it due to my fear of the unknown, fear of rejection, fear of loss, and fear of meaninglessness. I didn't click it due to my fear of hell.

Have any of you shared this experience? For years and years I tried to trust in a god. One day a quote came unexpectedly to me through a video. I didn't have a choice to click on it. I listened. I cracked. All that fear of the unknown was broken. The fear of the unknown became a passion for knowledge, it became a passion to think, a passion to realize that I was wrong.
