For people who originally only knew and watch JBA from the OVA, how long did it take you to get into the series?

I watch the OVA sometime in the mid-2000s after playing Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Arcade game. Knew about the manga but wasn't really into reading those at those point. Then last year I got into watching Part 1 through 3 of the anime.

Now I'm halfway through Part 4 and have a great love for this series.
