Origin closes halfway through updating

I'm getting so tired of this. I've deleted the ProgramData, AppData, etc. Origin folders, reinstalled Origin, made sure I don't have a proxy, and run as administrator but I simply can't fix this. The client's updater will get to about 40 MB, stop, and launch Origin. I can't open the client to change any settings that would possibly fix this, because the launcher says "Online login is unavailable," and when I try to log in, it says "You must be online when you log in for the first time", probably because I cleared Origin's data.

I am getting desperate right now, because I just want to play the games I paid real money for. I'd rather not format my HDD, but I'm really willing to do anything else right now.

Anyone know how to fix this?
