Formatting issues with SD cards and LulzBot TAZ 5

I've been using the SD card that came with the TAZ for a while, and recently tried to use 16GB and 8GB card instead. Neither worked, and I'm wondering if this is something with the cards or the TAZ. Both cards had been used, but even after being cleared with only the part to print, it doesn't work.

Is it possible that the TAZ cannot handle cards over a certain size? The 2GB cards seem to work, but not the larger sizes...
