Elder Ballard supposedly says there's less apostasy now than previous generations...

Today in EQ, the bishop said he was at a large training meeting for 4 hours with Elder Ballard and other general authorities. (SLC area...) He said there was some Q&A, and the question was asked "What keeps the apostle up at night?" Supposedly the answer was "how do we protect ourselves from this unprecedented attack on the family?" Then someone asked a follow up about reading in the news about people leaving the church in droves. Apparently Elder Ballard said that people have always left the church, but now they're just more public about it, and that they shouldn't take news reports at face value because they're not accurate and are sensationalized. He said that the number of people leaving the church now is lower than it has been at other times in the church and isn't a big concern.

Obviously this is second hand, I wasn't there, but it's what the Bishop reported to us today.
