How would you handle this weird 1780's era petticoat seam? (X-post from r/sewing)

Original post I'm sewing this petticoat that is assembled from 6 pieces. The weird thing is the length of each panel is a bit different (presumably to make room for a bum roll) so the seam edges don't line up. Either I distribute the extra length along the length of the seams, or ignore it and fix the hem (which would be zigzags otherwise)

Internet, do you have any insight?
