What a strange situation to be in.
So.. been an ex muslim for 6 yrs or so. Family know and have discussed it with me without repercussions except for friendly advice.
I have a brother who is 5 yrs younger. He went off the rails in his early teens, been stabbed , shot, deals drugs, violent lifestyle blah blah...lots of heartache and trying has eventually led to him being removed from the family house. Hes started a family and improved but still has a long way to go. He is largely estranged from the family except my mum due to his behaviour but we still love him.
Anyway...he has a current court case which is likely to put him in jail for at least a couple of yrs..away from his kids and he has resorted to drinking (like alcoholic type levels etc). We are 2 weeks away from trial and he is starting to have some sort of epiphany and realised how messed up he was. We welcome this but....he is starting to bring in religion to reform himself.
I find myself in a weird situation as i like the fact that he is opening up, connecting with the family and wants to change but...i find myself agreeing to his religous approach as it may be his only way to reform (lesser of two evils). He knows only little of my apostacy but enough for him to start lecturing me about the devil guiding me astray!?!
Tl:dr. I have a crazy gangster brother using religion to reform and i find myself accepting him turning to the faith as a last hope that it will help him changd even though im a hardcore ex moose.
