Visiting Canada after DUIs
My dumb ass got a couple OWIs, neither of which is a felony in Michigan, about 5 years ago. From what I understand, if I want to go to Canada, I need to file paperwork--no sooner than 5 years from my most recent conviction--stating I've been rehabilitated, and then I'm at the mercy of the Canadian government.
Anybody have firsthand experience or knowledge about this? I'm not planning any immediate trips to Canada or anything, but I'm kind of curious, as it's only a few hours to the border, and I used to visit rather frequently.
