I love trance but am losing my hearing

I absolutely love trance, but have damaged my hearing due to repeated listening through earbuds. Which has led me to stop listening, which makes me sad :(

How do you guys protect your hearing? Any good (ideally affordable) noise cancelling headphones? Also, does tinnitus ever go away?
