Something that I feel needs to be resisted and hasn't been talked about much: Xur

Suggestion

IF YOU REALLY HATE READING, GO DOWN TO THE EXAMPLE FOR THE JUST OF IT

Yeah, we all know how it works. Every week on Friday people get their hopes up before being dashed away, youtubers make their videos to tell you how shitty the items are, people restock on heavy ammo synths and 3oC before waving their middle finger goodbye to Xur on Saturday. We've all done this. Some of us have done this 76 times.

It is important to mention that sometimes Xur does sell that magic item and the masses go wild. But for every one of those weeks, there are at least 8 weeks that are boring.

The Problem: So what needs improvement? Xur needs to be more rewarding. This is something I'm sure many people will agree on. So the obvious answer to have him sell the best items more often. But this has flaws like a changing meta, players being too powerful, and it makes obtaining certain items too easy or unrewarding.

The Idea: So I propose a new system for Xur. Here's how it would work: Xur sells exotics like normal and the player has the option to "Delete" the exotics (via square or X button, like you would to delete a normal item). This deleted exotic would then turn into 5 archetype specific exotic engrams of it's kind for sale (3 if it's a weapon). So say you delete a Titan chest-piece it would turn into 5 body armor engrams that WILL ONLY TURN INTO TITAN CHEST-PIECES.

The specifics: Now, you don't buy these item's 5 (3 if it's a weapon) at a time. 5 (or 3) is the limit of how many you can buy. As you buy more, the price goes up. Once you've "deleted" the weekly item, you can't bring it back (a risk/reward system). Also, if you choose to buy the weekly item, it goes away, and you can't start buying the engrams. Also, Xur items that aren't exotics won't be affected however the non-legacy engram will no longer appear.

The Pros:

-Players you play more will still get more, but not so much more that the game becomes impossible to play casually

-People who want PS exclusives from Xur can get them

-Xur becomes more rewarding/intresting

-Caps off players with hordes of coins

-Makes Xur relevant during bad weeks

The Cons:

-A little harder for new players to understand

-Requires archetype specific engrams to be implemented.

Example: Let's say one week Xur is selling the Achlyophage Symbiote for Hunters, The Ram for Warlocks, the Crest of Alpha Lupi for Titans, and the weapon of the week is the Suros Regime. Ok so you really want the Achlyophage Symbiote so you buy it for the usual 13 strange coins. Poof it's gone. Now you already have The Ram so you decide to "Delete it". It turns into 5 warlock-helmet-engrams. You buy the first for 10 strange coins, but it doesn't encrypt into what you want (say, THE STAG). You buy another for 13 strange coins and it turns into the Obsidian Mind. Now the price is 17 strange coins with 3 engrams remaining. However you don't want to blow your budget trying to get THE STAG so you move onto the Titan exotic. You REALLY want the Twilight Garrison so you "delete" the Crest of Alpha Lupi and start spending your strange coins. You go all out, buying the very last engram for 27 strange coins. Xur-the-slot-machine wins out so you move onto the weapon. You already have the Suros Regime so you "delete it". But you realize that you have all the auto-rifle exotics, so you save your strange coins for next week.

Edit: Title should be revisited not resisted but whatever, I don't know why you can't edit titles
