How to stop dying as Executioner?

Regardless of whether or not I talk, or whether or not I vote, I am ALWAYS either lynched Day 2 or executed by the Jailor on Night 2. There is literally nothing I have found that can keep me alive. What am I doing wrong for this to happen so consistently?
