I have managed to move into a garage. Time for suspension rebuid. Tips?
So I have managed to be able to use my SO parents garage to store and work on my mx5. I really want it be ready for the summer so I'm now going to push on with the project. I recently changed the discs and pads and noticed the suspension arms etc were looking for rusty. When I checked it is all surface rust which I'm pleased about. So I'm going to strip it all down and clean it up and rebuild. I'm still very new to this so I'm still learning.
My main concerns are removing the hub's, how bad can this go? Will I need anything replacing or pressed back in?
I'm going to reuse the springs and shocks for the time being until funds allow coil overs. I will check and clean them up though. As the car is a 2003 mk2.5 I think I will swap out the lower ball joint and renew the upper ball joint boot if need be. I've order a splitter so hopefully that will work. How is refitting the lower one?
The control arms should be fine enough to paint after that I think. I'm going to change arb mounts and bushes and clean that up too. I would love to replace but not atm.
So basically has anyone done this before? What should I look out for? Any tips?
Thanks
